Schillings launches Dublin office, expanding global reach

We are pleased to announce that we are expanding our operations to Ireland.

The new Dublin office will further broaden Schillings’ global presence, adding to its existing Miami office and complementing its strategic alliance with law firms Clare Locke and Giles George in the US and Australia respectively.

With the firm’s widened reach, the Irish market will benefit from access to Schillings’ established expertise in law, investigations, strategic communications, diplomacy and security, to handle high stakes situations.

Legal Director John Curtin will be relocating to Dublin, and Partners Ben Hobbs and Phil Hartley will be dividing their time between the London and Dublin office.

John Curtin, a senior media lawyer dual-qualified in Ireland and England & Wales, has substantial experience protecting the reputations of prominent individuals and global companies, and brings a deep knowledge of the Irish market, having previously been a commercial litigation solicitor in Dublin.

With 15 years of litigation experience, Partner Ben Hobbs, also dual-qualified, specialises in guiding FTSE 100 companies and business-owners through high-stakes reputational crises and opportunities. Partner Phil Hartley, who has extensive experience in defamation, privacy, and intellectual property, additionally brings to the Dublin office a depth of expertise in contentious and complex advisory data privacy cases.

New Consultant Partner, Viv O’Connor-Jemmett, an expert in digital resilience and strategic communications, will also be based in the Dublin office. Viv has spent 15 years advising clients – including boards and high-profile individuals – on protecting, building and optimising their profiles online.

On the expansion, CEO David Imison said:

‘Further increasing our international reach, our Dublin office is a natural next step in the strategic expansion of Schillings. The city is home to many of the world's largest technology and e-commerce companies, as well as a growing cohort of highly successful entrepreneurs and business leaders.
With this new Irish base, we are pleased to provide new and existing clients with an opportunity to access legal services in the EU. We believe that this - combined with our expertise in investigations, strategic communications, diplomacy and security – creates a new and compelling offer to the Irish market.’
